At 50 Nightingale Lane, the brief was for a multipurpose school hall for use in various functions, as a gym and for school meets, thus requiring it to have a fully functioning kitchen, in addition to four classrooms.

Given the adjacent properties, the new hall design could be no higher than the building it was to replace. The solution was to sink the double storey hall into the ground. The roof to the hall is flat with sedum and is supported using glulam beams off glulam columns in a timber frame construction.
